About the role:


Vision for Education are recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants with an Autism specialism, who have experience of working with SEND children, young people or vulnerable adults to work in a SEND school in the Longridge area.


In your role as a Teaching Assistant, you will help the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum and ensuring all students are supported both academically and emotionally.

You will work closely with students who have a diagnosis of Autism, promoting Speech and Language and promoting Positive Behaviour Strategies.

Hours will be 9am-3pm or 9:30am-3:30pm - Monday to Friday.


About the school:


The school is based in Longridge and caters for children and young people aged 4-18 years who have a variety of SEND including Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, ADHD, Autism, Speech and Language difficulties and specific learning difficulties.


Each pupil has a EHCP and has access to a variety of services and visiting practitioners to support their development.

Some students suffer from social vulnerabilities, anxiety and mental health difficulties and require extra support for their emotional needs, however they do not present with disruptive behaviours.

All pupils are working significantly below their peers of a similar age.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

  • DBS on the update service.
  • Ready to start work as soon as possible.
  • Previous experience of working with SEND children, young people or vulnerable adults with Autism or SEND.
  • Desirable to drive due to the rural location of the school.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:


  • Previous experience of working with or supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults with Autism or SEND.
