Description
We are a family-run haulage company looking for a Transport Compliance Manager.


We are looking for someone who has experience of being accountable for Transport & Driver compliance within the HGV, logistics, distribution, supply chain sector.


The role is responsible for deployment and management of all applicable vehicle compliance and associated accreditations such as Fors etc.


Reporting directly to the Directors, theTransport Compliance Manager will be responsible for all aspects of vehicle and driver legislation compliance within the business.


Accountabilities:


  • Schedule a rota for all services and MOTs.
  • Attend regular meetings with Director.
  • Schedule regular vehicle checks, maintenance, and customer site specific training.
  • To ensure drivers are educated on changes in law/legislations and driver hours.
  • To ensure that there are systems, procedures and controls in place to comply and can demonstrate continuous and effective control.
  • To manage the full incident investigation process and report to Directors and Customers.
  • To keep up to date with new legislation and best practice and make recommendations to Directors about the procedures/changes required for continued compliance.
  • To audit the depots, systems and procedures and work closely with the Directors to maintain the highest standards.
  • To manage training to ensuring that courses are designed to meet the needs of the company and are delivered effectively and in a timely manner.
  • To work closely with our transport department and become an integral team member.
  • To support the business in other area of key compliance by providing the necessary assistance.

Key skills required for this role:

  • Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Transport National or International.
  • A current understanding of Transport Rules, Requirements, Standards and Laws.
  • Excellent planning and organisational ability.
  • A good understanding of managing a Transport department with a responsibility for compliance.
  • Strong people management and leadership practices.
  • Excellent IT ability and reporting skills, including Excel and database management.
  • Numerate.
  • A clear, confident communication style.
  • Possess enthusiasm and desire to achieve results with effective customer service.

  • 37.5hrs/week, Monday to Friday.
  • 28 holiday days per year inclusive of bank holidays.
