Reporting to your line manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing medium scale projects from commencement to completion and close out.
All project work must be carried out with an appropriate level of care and attention, compliant with RPS procedures and completed within the given cost budgets and time scales agreed.
There will be an expectation to demonstrate good communication with team members, peers and the team's senior management.Within this role you will need to exhibit a proactive approach and work well within a team environment; providing a key and active link between Associate Directors/Directors and the roles within the team, providing evidence and mentoring where appropriate.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities
Support colleagues in the conduct, delivery and management of projects; assuming a lead role where applicable, with delegated responsibility for coordinating project finances, assisting in the production of deliverables in line with the client's expectations and helping to ensure deliverables are submitted on time and to a good standard
In consultation with, and with the support of your line manager ensure you achieve targets as set and agreed by your line manager for each year.
Prepare inputs for fee proposals/client proposals through for, for example, information gathering, assessment of relevant data and details and providing appropriate summaries
Conduct research and develop a working knowledge of relevant legal Acts, legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines applicable to your role
Communicate with peers relating to project work, including the ability to ask for help when needed, recognising that this is not a performance shortfall but an expectation
Manage your own time resources by ensuring that you don't take on too much responsibility or overcommit yourself to too many projects at any one time with the ability to work without supervision
Ensure reports and other outputs are: written professionally and prepared well; comply with our Quality Assurance and Information Management requirements; are properly formatted and checked for grammar, spelling and relevant copyright statements etc.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure you and the team achieve targets as set and agreed by your line manager for each year.

Take an active role in developing business creation and generation skill sets, supported by your Line Manager/Directors and expanding your own networks
Support Directors with business development activities as and when required and develop a wider understanding of the services offered by RPS across the Consulting UK&I segment
Understand the contractual conditions affecting our business and how these affect our submission of tenders and how we undertake project work
Understand the bid process and support or contribute to either or both Consulting, Divisional or business unit pitches, tenders and bids
Clients
Where appropriate, undertake technical review of deliverables for submission to clients as part of the QA process
When required, represent clients at hearings and committee meetings and attend design/project team meetings, presenting advice etc. around your own capability
Work with the Directors to manage a client portfolio and establish relationships with clients
Develop strong relationships with clients that help lead to repeat business for the benefit of the team
Support the team with managing clients and relationships within the wider business
Share client contacts and information with others to allow cross-selling within the team and wider business of RPS
Play a role in drafting proposals and/or bid processes within your area of expertise
Make client presentations with skill and confidence
