Main Purpose of Role
- To carry out metering disputes across the UK
- To be formally appointed for the function of an Electricity Meter Examiner in accordance with the requirements of Schedule 7 of the Electricity Act 1989 (as amended).
- To perform testing of Electrical energy meters and support the evaluation for Module B Type Approvals
- To assist in business development and provide technical support to expand the Company's capability and offering to clients.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the day to day operation of the Electricity Metering department covering testing, Meter Approvals and communications with BEIS.
- Monitoring of Meter disputes to ensure we deliver a firstclass service at all times.
- To support others enabling them to provide quotes for approval testing, in a timely and accurate manner to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding meter disputes.
- Monitoring and reporting of Key Performance Indicators against BEIS and internal requirements
- Carry out other duties as identified from time to time by the Lab Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
Qualifications:
Essential
- HNC/D in Electrical/Electronic engineering
- Full Driving Licence for use in the UK
- Previous experience in performing Type Approval certification activities under 2014/32/EU / Measuring Instrument Regulations 201
- Working knowledge of EN 50470 and 62052/62053 series.
- Working knowledge of Measuring Instrument Directive/Regulations
- Analytical skills, with a solid background in electrical/electronic engineering
- Use of test and measuring equipment relating to testing electrical energy meters
- Willingness to learn and adapt to change committed to continuous personal and professional development
- Familiarity working under an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 / 17065:2012 quality management system
- Familiarity with EMC test standards
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering
