Description

Who we are:

We are William Reed.

We are the leading expert in the global Food & Drink industry.

The Grocer is the flagship of William Reed, a family-owned publishing, events, conferences, and research business, whose interests include operations in the UK, US, France and Singapore.

Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Features Editor to join The Grocer - the UK's biggest, most interesting and most high-profile business media publication.

The features desk is where The Grocer gets to set the agenda, providing thought leadership via original research, investigations, rankings and in-depth reports, as well as offering fresh and fun insights via interviews, profiles, listicles, podcasts etc.

It's a fascinating time in the market, with the cost of living crisis, ongoing regulation around health & obesity, and plans for packaging and recycling legislation, as well as concerns and opportunities from the multiplicitous impacts of Covid-19 and Brexit, and upheaval caused by technological and societal changes.

Requirements:

You'll need proven long-form features commissioning and writing experience, and the editing skills to craft sometimes average content into something snappy, engaging and insightful - at pace.

You'll also need a decent head for figures, strong analytical skills, creativity, an understanding of digital and social media smarts.

You will also be expected to build strong industry contacts, and to represent The Grocer at key grocery events and on TV and radio.
