BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISTAR Services, Through Life Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.
The E-7 Wedgetail is the world's most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world.
The aircraft is designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously while also providing situational awareness and directing other assets such as fighter jets and warships.
The E7 Wedgetail is currently undergoing modification in Birmingham.Each of the 3 aircraft will require a period of Flight Testing prior to entering service based in Lossiemouth, Scotland.
As part of BDUK's continued growth, we are now looking for an experienced Production lead / Maintenance controller to lead the mission systems cabinet build team of eight people.
On completion of the cabinet build task transitioning to a Maintenance controller role as part of the E-7 flight test team at Boscombe down.
Responsibility to:
- Deliver Mission system cabinet to support aircraft modification schedule.
- Coordinate Cabinet build team and ensure sufficient personnel to deliver to schedule.
- Coordinate supporting functions and lead team meetings communicating help needed and reporting out to leadership.
- Schedule and monitor workshop output and report progress
- Coordinate training for technicians to ensure currency of the build team.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience in an aircraft maintenance control or production control position.
- Line or Base maintenance experience
- Proficient computer skills, use of the Microsoft Office suite
- 12 months of experience working on a military platform desirable
- Aircraft maintenance experience ideally on fixed wing narrow body aircraft (737 Commercial or 737 Military Commercial Derivative) desirable.

Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance (SC) for which UK residency is required. All information will be checked and verified.
