The Role

As a Buyer, you are responsible to ensure the best quality, cost and delivery conditions to supply managing suppliers.
Ensure category is meeting business needs with its suppliers and conducting business reviews with suppliers to communicate the needs and performance.
Manage the request for quotations and supplier selection in consistency with the commodity strategy.
Identify/implement technical productivities (QVE), Supplier Change (COS) while working cross functionally with internal teams to move quickly and with accuracy.
Contribute to the purchasing database/tools updates by providing necessary information to commodity managers / supplier leaders/ purchasing assistant.
Be the first escalation level for supplier crisis management.
Communicate Supplier strategy internally.
To support the purchasing team through data entry, raising manual orders, managing invoice queries, communicating with suppliers and other general daytoday office duties.
To carry out the appropriate administrative tasks required e.g. raising enquiries, purchase orders, producing reports of a written and numerical nature & minute taking.
Strong, confident & professional communicator
Preferably from a manufacturing or engineering background
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers
Good teamwork skills, a willingness to participate as a full team member
Strong admin and organisation skills
High level of accuracy in input work and keen eye for detail
Problem analysis and decision making skills
