Monday to Friday 8am-4pm

Study support administrator

Reports to:
Senior leadership team SEND Lin


Responsible for:
Study Support Administration and general administrative support to the school


Main Purpose:
The post holder will provide administrative support to the school.


Main Activities:


  • Creation and maintenance of SEND student records, liaising with staff and parents when required.
  • Creation and maintenance of provision plans.
  • Provide support for the transition of SEND students, including liaising with feeder schools and the collation of SEND transition data.
  • Administer the daily arrangement of staff timetables and team cover.
  • Liaise with parents and outside agencies, attending and recording meetings with parents and external agencies as required.
  • Assist with the administration of referrals to a range of services.
  • Provide administrative support for school events, off site trips and activities.

Support for the School:


  • To comply with the school's Child Safeguarding Procedures, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person/including regular liaison with the Designated Safeguarding Lead over any safeguarding issues or concerns.
  • Provide cover as required within the Study Support team.
  • Provide general administrative support to the school as required.
  • To support the school with its multiple functions the role requires direction taken from any member of the Support Staff Management Team.
  • Support with the creation and maintenance of accurate and uptodate record keeping.
  • Be aware of the Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation to ensure that confidentiality of records and information is maintained, and data is processed correctly.
  • Participate in training and development activities and programmes and attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • To carry out such tasks as are commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the post Undertaking these duties within the school's objectives, policies and procedures and promoting the school's Equal Opportunities policy

General

  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare and protection of children and young people within the school.
  • Working to and within school police's and procedures, including safeguarding, child protection and health and safety
  • Taking care of own and other people's health and safety
  • Person specification for study support administration

Experience

  • Experience of working in a school or similar role
  • Proven experience in office administration

Qualifications or training

  • GCSE or equivalent passed in English or mathematics.
  • Relevant knowledges of special educational needs support within schools is desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of safeguarding police and procedures
  • Working knowledge of relevant police's/codes of practice/legislation applicable in school

Practical skills

  • Ability to manage own time effectively and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to adhere to working procedures and police's within the school environment.
  • Ability to operate as part of a team or individually as required.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good IT skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft office programmes
  • A working knowledge of MIS(management information system) software is desirable but not essential.

Salary:
£12.00-£13.21 per hour
