My client is looking to recruit for a catering manager to work in a school located in Hackney, East London.

Responsible for Café Supervisor, Commis Chef, Catering Assistants, Catering Assistant Café, Kitchen Porter

Salary scale:
PO4, Point £41,043- £42,921 pro-rata (£44,362 - £46,392 FTE)

Working time 07:00-15:00, term-time plus 10 days.


Location:
Hackney, East London.


JOB PURPOSE
To provide an outstanding catering service to students from Year 7 to Year 13 and to staff and visitors. To lead the catering team, as well as assisting in cooking and serving high quality freshly cooked meals.

My client is looking for a talented, enthusiastic and innovative Catering Manager to lead their catering team.


The role requires the Catering Manager to have a 'hands on' approach and be able to create excellent meals, adhering to a strict budget, to meet specific dietary and cultural requirements for all stakeholders.

You will provide a high quality catering service for our students.


An ability to market and promote catering effectively to students and emulate the schools desire to promote healthier lifestyles is important.


Main Roles and Responsibilities:

To prepare, book and serve food ensuring that checking and recording procedures are robust and that food served is in accordance with nutritional guidelines (The Education Nutritional Standards for School Lunches England Regulations 2000) and the ethos ofthe school
To ensure the catering operation and work of kitchen staff is organised effectively and efficiently, managing rotas, absenteeism and day to day performance

To work and lead the catering team to carry out their duties effectively and in accordance with H&S hygiene regulations.

Have excellent customer service skills
Have a "can-do attitude"
Be proactive and show initiative
Be an experienced caterer and hold a relevant HND Qualification or equivalent
Have the ability to work in a pressurised environment and be self-motivated
Have knowledge of, and be able to provide, good, healthy and nutritious food
Have the ability to work efficiently and quickly
Have high standards of personal hygiene
