We are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Oldham.


As a Behaviour Support Assistant at our PRU school in Oldham, you will play a crucial role in supporting and empowering students who require additional assistance with their behaviour and emotional well-being.

You will work closely with the teaching staff and other professionals to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Providing oneonone and group support to students with challenging behavior.
  • Implementing behavior management strategies and interventions.
  • Building positive relationships with students, fostering trust and confidence.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of individualised behaviour plans.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Encouraging and promoting positive behavior and social skills.
  • Assisting in deescalation and crisis management when necessary.
  • Promoting a culture of respect, inclusivity, and diversity within the school community.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with students with challenging behavior or special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deescalate challenging situations.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Relevant qualifications and training are a plus but not mandatory.

Salary:
£95.00-£120.00 per day


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Oldham,

Greater Manchester:
reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)


Education:


  • Bachelor's (preferred)

Experience:


  • Special education: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
