Hoop Education are are currently seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our team at a reputable primary school in Swansea.


This position offers part-time hours, with a total of 3 hours per day, either 1 hour in the morning (7am) and 2 hours in the afternoon (4pm), or vice versa (2 hours in the morning at 7am and 1 hour in the afternoon at 5pm).


This is a fantastic chance to contribute to the smooth running of the school and create a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the school premises are safe, clean, and wellmaintained on a daily basis.
  • Open the school in the morning (7am) or close the school in the afternoon (5pm), depending on the shift.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including general repairs, minor plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Monitor heating, ventilation, and lighting systems, ensuring they are functioning correctly.
  • Undertake regular checks of the school premises, identifying and addressing any health and safety concerns.
  • Maintain the security of the premises, including locking and unlocking doors, and responding to alarms if necessary.
  • Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment and furniture for school events and activities.
  • Collaborate with staff and contractors, providing support during building projects and repairs.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role is preferred but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance tasks and the ability to carry out minor repairs.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, students, and visitors.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and the ability to maintain a safe environment.
  • Flexibility to work morning and afternoon shifts, as required.

Job Types:
Part-time, Temporary contract

Part-time hours: 15 per week


Salary:
£10.00-£12.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Experience:

- cleaning: 1 year (preferred)

- janitorial: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
