Mendip Media is a visual communications agency with a broad portfolio of clients across nuclear, construction, food and education sectors.

We produce video, animation and photography for communication purposes, more specifically for training, stakeholder engagement, product and service demonstration.


The company has recently won a 2-year contract to produce film, video, animation for a significant new client which means that we will see steady growth over the coming months.

and on location, including outside of the UK.

Job Offer


Mendip Media is offering a role for a talented, committed Editor Camera Operator Director to join its small team based in Bedminster, Bristol.

This is a full-time, office-based position.

A minimum of 2-years full time editing on Adobe Premiere Pro and Camera operation is required and animation experience is advantageous.


We are looking for someone who is comfortable with editing footage to a high standard at an efficient speed, has experience of cutting interviews and montages, can animate in 2D and is adept at creating graphic overlays.

Experience of directing interviews, setting up camera equipment and assisting on a shoot as well as filming is essential.

The job will start on Monday 1st May 2023.


Duties & Responsibilities


You must be an organised, process driven video creative who values attention to detail and is fully involved in all aspects of Mendip Media's production process from concept meeting with clients, organising post production assets, indexing and arranging material correctly, working in a team and following procedure.

Ability to consistently and correctly title files, archive material and follow the agency's process is a requirement.


It is an absolute prerequisite of this role that you are able to liaise with the production manager, creative director and clients to transform outlines and storyboards into edited videos or animations.


The capability to own your own complete project _
as well as_ take other people's footage and edit it according to an outline, script or storyboard is paramount.

As part of the creative team, you may be asked to assist in producing storyboards.

You will be required to work across multiple projects simultaneously, with scheduling and creative support from the delivery team. This means that there will be a reasonable amount of 'finishing' work - including subtitling, graphic overlay creation, amendments.

In addition you will be expected to operate a small voiceover booth and mixing desk from time to time. Training will be provided.


Whilst this is primarily an editing and camera operation role with animation experience and advantage, there will be opportunities to assist the creative director on shoots and to learn about the creative operation of Sony FS7 and an A7SII (including gimble) as well as working with the studio manager to set up general studio lighting and studio equipment.

You must be able to drive; a full UK driving licence is essential. As well as have proof of right to work in the UK.
