This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust Medicines Governance team working 3 days per week.

The post holder is required to support the Chief Pharmacist to deliver excellent clinical care and advice to the Trust by ensuring that we are complying with medicines legislation, driving service improvements and efficiencies and providing specialist knowledge and advice on all matters relating to the safe storage, handling, administration and disposal of medicines to all staff.


To ensure that the Trust is compliant with the legal and statutory requirements in relation to all matters that pertain to medicines governance and management.

Perform the role of a registered healthcare professional. This includes advice, supervision, co-operation, problem solving, training and support of colleagues in relation to medicines management and governance.


To deliver teaching sessions both in house and externally to paramedics, medical and nursing staff and other healthcare professionals as requested.


The post holder will be required to provide expert and specialist knowledge in relation to medicines and their use as well as assist in the development of new clinical protocols and treatment options including the development of patient group directions.

Develop guidelines, policies and procedures for medicines use within the Trust as required.

Respond to clinical and medicines related queries from Trust staff.
