Part Time, Fixed Term - Research

  • Oxford Brookes University has an opportunity to second a Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health Research Assistant over a ninemonth period for 11 hours per week. Applicants should be a nurse, midwife, or allied health professional currently working at either Oxford Health NHSFT or Oxford University Hospitals NHSFT.
  • The post has been created to support the development of the Oxford Living Lab, which is led by the Oxford Institute for Applied Health Research at Oxford Brookes University. The Oxford Living Lab aims to research key issues relating to the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional (NMAHP) workforce, to develop and evaluate relevant workforce interventions, to lead on national adoption where appropriate, and to influence government policy.
The postholder will be responsible for supporting the development of NMAHP workforce research priorities for the Oxford Living Lab by:

  • Collating and analysing survey data collected from NMAHPs in the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire (BOB) region relating to workforce priorities.
  • Mapping out any current workforce related research activity that is being undertaken across the BOB.
  • Coordinating and cofacilitating stakeholder engagement meetings with NMAHPS across the BOB to identify priority workforce research issues.
  • Undertaking a scoping review of the literature to identify interventions that have been implemented to tackle the NMAHP workforce crisis.
  • The successful employees will be contracted to one of the participating Trusts and will governed by NHS employment contract and benefits. They will be seconded to work with Oxford Brookes University.
