School Caretaker Needed for Large Secondary School in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire - Full time role - ASAP or Easter start - Temporary to Permanent Position.


Tradewind Secondary are searching for a dependable and experienced School Caretaker to join the site team at a busy and popular secondary school in Borehamwood.

With a large premises and over 1000 students, the incoming caretaker can expect to have a diverse range of responsibilities and joing a warm and welcoming team.


As the School Caretaker, your primary responsibility will be to maintain the school premises to a high standard and ensure they are safe and secure.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:


  • Opening and closing the school buildings daily
  • Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Carrying out cleaning duties as required
  • Preparing rooms and equipment for events and activities
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Managing and supervising external contractors as necessary


To be successful in this role, you must possess a good level of basic maintenance skills and demonstrate previous experience working in a similar caretaker or facilities management role.

You must have strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the prescience of mind to work in a school environment.
