We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our clients team at an independent accountancy firm in Wigan.

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of our clients, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and in compliance with accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Recording financial transactions on a daily basis for our clients
Performing bank reconciliations
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Preparing and filing VAT returns on behalf of clients
Preparing monthly management accounts for clients
Liaising with clients and providing them with financial advice and support
Keeping up to date with changes to accounting standards and regulations

Requirements:

Relevant degree or professional qualification in accounting or bookkeeping
Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally in an accountancy practice environment
Working knowledge of Sage and Xero accounting software
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work efficiently and under pressure
