Priory 255 Lichfield road are recruiting for full time and part time Recovery Support workers to join their friendly team.


255 Lichfield Road is an Independent Community Facing Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit which provides services for men and woman over the age of 18.


As a Recovery Support Worker your role will be to:

  • Support Service Users to attend and gain new experiences within their local community.
  • Support and assist Service Users with personal care as identified in agreed plans of care.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Service Users which will compliment and contribute to the care programme and create a pleasant environment in which to live
  • Contribute to the daily running of the hospital, e.g. shopping, cleaning and involving Service Users to the limits of their ability in all aspects of normal daily living.
  • Accompany residents on shopping trips and outings
  • Possess the ability to diffuse/resolve stressful situations with the use of effective communication skills
  • Maintaining accurate records relating to Service User progress and interventions you have delivered
  • Conducting Health and Safety observations
As a Recovery Support Worker you will be working within a team that includes a range of professionals.

You will be central to providing high quality care within a Rehabilitation and Recovery setting. The Service User group includes those with a diagnosis of severe and enduring mental illness including personality disorder.

You will assist and support nursing staff in the effective management of the ward.


No experience in Healthcare required, but to be successful as a Recovery Support Worker, you'll need:

The successful applicant will be supported through a company and site induction which will involve working a variety of shifts to enable them to meet and work alongside the full MDT.


Shift Pattern:

A full time contract consists of working 32.25 hours (3 shifts) one week and 43 hours (4 shifts) the second week.

Shift work including nights, weekends and bank holidays.


Shift Hours:


Long Day - 0730hrs to 1945hrs

Night Shift - 1930hrs to 0745hrs

Please note there are no permanent day contracts available. Permanent night contracts can be considered.

Service Users may be admitted either informally or detained under the Mental Health Act.

We aim to provide opportunities for our Service Users to develop independent living skills, by helping them learn the skills and confidence needed to successfully live in the community.

The unit comprises of 28 beds and accommodation includes:

  • Two 4-bedded enhanced recovery and rehabilitation units for people who require a structured environment with intensive support to progress through their recovery pathway
  • 20 selfcontained apartments that enable residents to live independently, whilst having the safety of a therapeutic structure if needed
  • Each apartment has its own front door, a lounge and kitchenette, bedroom and a bathroom
  • 24hour support as required
  • Dedicated occupational therapy facility to promote independent living skills
  • Therapy and treatment areas, safe and private grounds and a family visiting room
  • Communal bistro and kitchen
