This role would be suitable for anyone who would like to learn more about Adult Health Improvement and local interventions.

Volunteers will enjoy interacting with the public and be an ambassador for One You services and the Trust.

Volunteering would involve supporting staff and services within the One You shop with welcoming the public, providing brief intervention conversations, signposting to other services.

There is also the opportunity to get involved with some of the activities on site and at local community events.

After an induction period, there will be training provided to enable volunteer to undertake biometric measures such as Blood Pressure, weight, BMI and some admin tasks.

There will also be opportunity to shadow One You advisors delivering One You services.

  • Being front of house interacting and supporting members of the public to engage with the One You shop services.
  • Engaging in 'brief intervention conversations' to assist with referrals into health interventions
  • Be an advocate of the One You service
  • Undertake health measurements and biometrics such as blood pressure, weight, BMI, etc to support members of the public to make healthier lifestyle choices
- signposting members of the public to relevant services with either KCHFT or local providers

  • Lead or support with a health walk from the One You Shop (optional)
  • The role will also include the recording of relevant and essential data e.g. Patient Experience Surveys, attendance register, recording of postcodes, etc.
  • Help with the weekly Foodbox provision to the public (if volunteering on a Tuesday/Wednesday)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage the public
  • A keen interest in contributing and participating in local community services
  • Previous experience working in customer facing roles (desirable)
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and to take initiative as and when appropriate.
