Description
SENCo needed for a creative and nurturing Independent School.
Who we are
We are an alternative school and education charity with a 20-year track record, built on an ethos of creative and individualised learning.
We pride ourselves on our versatile and compassionate approach, and our ability to engage and inspire a wide variety of students with different SEN, SEMH, medical needs and disabilities.
The role
The SENCo role at TCW is a unique, challenging and highly rewarding role, with many differences to working in a more traditional setting - so we are looking for someone with an open mind as to what the role requires who is excited to work with us to achieve the best for our students.
You will oversee the special educational needs of all the students across our school, ensuring that all needs are met to the best of our ability and that the students all have effective and productive annual reviews, documented to the highest standard.
As TCW is a remote school, this role requires good communication skills to allow teachers to consult with the SENCo through various means enabling good practice and knowledge to be imparted to key members of staff who work directly with the students.
The providing of tailored advice is a big part of this role as you will be the first port of call for most SEND queries from staff, parents, referrers and students.
What we offer:
- Exciting and meaningful work
- Regular professional development from our training team
- A friendly team of staff to share in your journey
- Personal wellbeing support from a trained counsellor
- Access to hundreds of company discounts through Perkbox
You will need:
An Honours Degree or Equivalent SENCo qualification
A certificate in psychometric testing, assessment and access arrangements
Experience of working with children who have SEND
Experience working in an Alternative Provision would be an advantage

From £29,152 per annum - Term time
