We are looking for a Head of HSEQ who focuses on continuous improvement, is confident to influence strategy, culture, and leadership and able to communicate at the highest levels of the business.

You will be joining a high performing team who are all experts in their field.

Your new role, what's involved? Inclusive Leadership**- Leads and engages others, particularly our clients, to develop and maintain a culture of HSEQ excellence and innovation to differentiate and raise market profile and performance.

  • Promote ongoing relationships with academia, professional institutions and other centres for developing expertise. Provides coordination of the Business to ensure sharing of best practice, innovation and learning.
  • Proactively leading and managing the UK Corporate HSEQ Team.
  • Positively collaborating with the Global HSEQ Team and UK HSEQ Leadership Team to influence, develop and implement the UK HSEQ Culture, Strategy, Policy, and Programme.
  • Directly supporting the UK Business to provide HSEQ competent advice, support, training, systems, and tools, enabling assessment and management of People, Project, and Premises HSEQ risks and opportunities.
  • Proactively working with the Communications Team to develop and deliver a UK HSEQ Communications Programme (internal and external).
  • Working with the L&D Team to develop and deliver a UK HSEQ Training Programme.
  • Investigation and management of all UK HSEQ Incidents, including statutory reporting, internal reporting and communication of lessons learned.
  • Development, management, and update of an Integrated HSEQ Management System (BMS).
  • Coordinating internal & external HSEQ Assurance, Certifications, Awards, etc.
  • Providing market leading HSEQ input to Bids, Proposal and Projects.

YOUR TEAM

  • This role reports to the UK Commercial & HSEQ Director and closely aligns with the Global HSEQ team.
  • The team is located across various UK offices and includes:
  • H&S Business Partners / Advisors
  • Wellbeing Manager / Advisors
  • Corporate H&S Advisors
  • Environmental Manager / Advisors
  • Quality & Collaborative Business Relationship Consultants
  • BMS Manager / Advisors
  • Internal Audit Manager / Auditors

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • A background or extensive previous experience in a professional services business is essential in a complex and corporate culture.
  • Chartered Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH) status.
  • Extensive experience in a Health & Safety leadership position.
  • Proven Health and Safety leadership track record and reputation.
  • Ability to form, develop, lead, and maintain HSEQ teams.
  • Expertise in developing, implementing, and managing H&S strategy, culture, processes, and systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise of H&S legislation, occupational H&S compliance requirements and regulatory structure.
  • Wider Environmental and Quality qualifications and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 systems.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and build effective relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization, executive, and external clients and bodies.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking, negotiation, and decisionmaking skills.
