Position - Nursery Cook

Salary banding - TBC

Hours - Part time/Perm/Monday and Wednesday/10 hours

Location - Bexleyheath

Little Dolphins Day Nursery Ltd is an established private day nursery situated in Bexleyheath. We offer high standards of care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

We have an engaging environment for the children in our care, providing fun and stimulating activities and opportunities for individuality in both our indoor and outdoor environments.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment adhering to internal and external requirements
Encourage and model behaviour which is appropriate in a child environment being professional at all times
To make sure you meet the legal and company requirements for fire, safety, health & hygiene at all items and necessary paperwork is completed
To prepare and cook ageappropriate food for all the children daily with minimum wastage
Take responsibility to make sure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to the teams
To respond appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality: for example being aware of personal information regarding children
Support, promote and implement policies and procedures
Fulfil their roles, responsibilities and legislation duty in relation to safeguarding children by ensure that they have read understood and implement the Safeguarding Policies and Procedures
Work in cooperation and partnership with the nursery team and parents to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet
Use nominated suppliers and ensure all deliveries are accurate and paperwork is kept up to date
To take reasonable care of yourself and others and to comply with company Health and Safety guidelines
Support the manager and work as a team to ensure a good or better inspection outcome
Understand the importance of keeping everyone safe and the part you play
Ensure stocks are managed and stock levels are recorded in line with company expectations

Qualifications:

Experience in any role which involves cooking in domestic or commercial property
Food Safety Level 2 or above or equivalent this must be passed on day 1 in post
Good Knowledge of COSHH
Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of managing different dietary requirement around food allergies
Understanding of the EHO process
