Description
The post holder will carry out work to the standards set in the relevant professional and national objectives and the targets set in the Performance Framework.
Solihull has established a Safeguards Service.This Service plays an important function in independently reviewing plans for children, whether in need of protection services, looked after by the Local Authority or section 20, Children Act Short Breaks (Disabled Children).
The post holder, as part of their role, will fulfil the role of the Independent Reviewing Officer as outlined in legislation.
The post holder will be responsible for chairing Child Protection Conferences, and, Statutory Reviews of children who are Looked After by the Council.
The IRO's primary focus is to quality assure the care planning and review process for each child and to ensure that his/her current wishes and feelings are given full consideration.
The post holder will significantly contribute to quality assurance measures promoting service improvements, and monitor compliance to practice standards to achieve improved outcomes for children.
