Description

An exciting opportunity to work within the Community Midwifery team to develop the team's skills, knowledge, competence and confidence in the care of women and their babies within the community setting.


This will include supporting and developing members of the midwifery team to enable them to reach their full potential within this speciality and play a key role focussing on wellbeing and retention.

To develop, facilitate and evaluate training opportunities for all staff within the community midwifery team

To work collaboratively with clinical teams and practice educators to provide evidence based skills training including out of hospital emergency situations

To be responsible for monitoring training compliance in partnership with the Team leaders

  • From a clinical, educational and professional perspective, guide and direct midwifery staff to ensure each individuals full potential is reached
  • Through working with staff directly link theory to practice within the clinical setting, and ensure accurate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of midwifery are delivery
  • Act as a knowledge resource for members of the multidisciplinary team on a day to day basis
  • Take a role in introducing and supporting midwifery developments within the service, together with enhancing evidence-based practice.
