Bristol City Council Fleet Services are looking for Vehicle Mechanics to join our Fleet Workshops in Brislington.

The main responsibilities will be servicing and maintaining of a mixed fleet of Council vehicles, plant and equipment, diagnosing faults andreplacing parts as necessary.

Fleet Services are currently responsible for the maintenance and repair of approximately 600 vehicles and 900 pieces of plant.

These items are fully maintained as part of a Service Level Agreement with user departments ensuring they are roadworthy and of aserviceable standard, keeping downtime to a minimum.

To enable these goals to be achieved it is essential that maintenance and repairs are carried out to industry standard times, or above, and meet these agreed SLA and KPI targets.

This involves daily contactwith members of the public, our suppliers, and other Council staff.

Experience of working in a service environment, maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment will be required.

You will have the ability to work on your own as well as part of a team. You must possess good communication skills, and the ability to make decisions regarding repairs.
