Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join as a member of our Elective Booking Team. You should have an excellent communications skills and work well within a team. Flexibility in your approach to work is essential and attention to detail.

  • Arranging inpatient procedures over the telephone with patients, working from the waiting list and prioritising appropriately.
  • Rescheduling and cancelling appointments at short notice, when required
  • You will assist with meeting Trust targets.
  • You will be required to offer very high customer service skills for patients and both internal and external staff.
  • You must be able to liaise confidently and appropriately with members of the clinical team such as surgeons and specialist nurses.

  • To contact patients by telephone and discuss availability for surgery.
  • To liaise with pre operative assessments, so ensure patients are booked in accordance with national and local timescales liaising with patients both in person and on the telephone.
  • To arrange any necessary cancellation and rebooking of theatre slots.
  • To deal with patients, relatives and clinicians telephone enquiries efficiently and effectively and in a courteous manner, conveying any messages clearly, promptly and accurately.
  • To maintain the high standards of the department by contributing towards individual and team objectives.
