Vacancy - Accounts Assistant - Manchester
Our client, the best employer in the North West are looking to recruit an experienced Motor Trade Accounts Assistant


Job role:

The role of the Accounts Assistant is to support the accountant and the wider management team.


For this position the role will have a focus on bank and balance sheet reconciliations, requiring a high degree of accuracy and a good degree of numerical ability.


Within this role, duties include posting daily bank transactions to the accounting system, processing daily cash and card takings and assisting with the sales ledger and purchase ledger to help ensure the smooth running of the team.


This is a successful and busy motor retail business and you will be an important part of the accounting team and expected to bring enthusiasm and a good work ethic to the office.


You will be proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and have prior experience working with accounting systems in an accounting environment.


Experience in the motor industry and working with the Kerridge DMS would be an advantage but is not essential as on-site training will be given.

Analytical/Mathematical skill is a must.

Providing support to the retail centre accountant in all areas as directed.

Ensuring the maintenance and accuracy of accounting records and systems.

Producing detailed, accurate and timely balance sheet and ledger reconciliations.

Credit Control

  • Allocating Payments
  • Sending Statements
  • Chasing Payments
  • Providing Weekly reports on customer account status
Purchase Ledger

  • Placing purchase orders for the sales team
  • Matching Delivery notes to invoices
  • Checking for any invoice discrepancies
  • Process Invoices onto sage
  • Check supplier statements
  • Generate monthly payment list
  • Chase credits for any returns
  • Knowledge of Nominal Codes

£24,400


Working hours/days:

Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 5.30pm

1 hour lunch
