Description

Would you like to work for an organisation whose values include respect, passion, integrity, innovation and pride? Would you like to work within a conurbation renowned for its natural beauty? With long stretches of golden sand and stunning gardens, we have an international reputation, attracting millions of visitors each year.

With the New Forest and the Jurassic Coast on our doorstep, there is something for everyone to enjoy in this vibrant community.

BCP Council is one of the country's newest and largest unitary authorities and you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of the Planning & Destinations Service within the authority.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Planning Enforcement team within Planning & Destination Services, working for a modern local authority where transformation and digital ways of working are at the heart of what we do.

The positions offer a great opportunity to develop your career in Planning, whether you are looking to develop and enhance your existing professional skills and knowledge or take a step to continue your career.

We are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our proactive, problem solving and customer-focused team.

As a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer you will assist leading a team of professional officers with complex planning enforcement investigations and prosecutions, ensuring planning legislation and policy is followed and adhered to, and that successful enforcement, negotiations or other outcomes can effectively assist in safeguarding the local environment in a timely fashion.

You will take a lead role for the Council on complex planning enforcement investigations and prosecutions relating to all planning, advertisement, conservation, listed building and tree infringements and contraventions and to prepare and serve statutory notices.

As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which is to be applicable for all employees.

It is important to us that we offer benefits that our colleagues value as part of their total employment package and we are reviewing these to make sure we have it right.

We are in the process of establishing a timescale for implementation and colleagues joining us will be included in these changes.

Expected to be in place 2024.
