Teaching Assistant for Alternative Provision School

Blackburn

Term-time only, temporary with potential for permanent


Responsibilities:


  • Providing onetoone and group support to pupils with SEMH
  • Deescalating challenging behaviour and providing behaviour management strategies
  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons
  • Supporting pupils with their academic progress and social development
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

Requirements:


  • Experience of working with children from Key Stage
  • Key Stage 4, particularly with SEMH needs
  • Ability to deescalate challenging behaviour and provide behaviour management strategies
  • A patient and empathetic approach to working with pupils
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team


This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with SEMH needs.

The position is term-time only and is a temporary contract with the potential for permanent placement.
