Our civil engineering team is currently hiring a Project Controller for an exciting new opportunity. Working on-site at our port in Corringham, this position is available Monday through Friday.


We are looking for an experienced person who can monitor and prepare all of the program and budgetary needs, as well as the reporting of all of this.

Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Prepare, review, integrate, coordinate and update construction programmes for various Port and Park development projects
  • Prepare, forecast, monitor and update all budgets (capital and operational expenditure)
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to Senior management team for all construction projects
  • Provide critical dates for all project implementation activities pan project
  • Monitor and manage key risks
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of functional systems, policies and procedures based on specialist knowledge or expertise to achieve best practice
  • Undertake financial tracking and supplier management, including raising Purchase Orders, tracking invoices and expenditure, and ensuring contracts are in place for supplier services
  • To monitor, report on and, where necessary, query programme and costs of the works along with an action plan to rectify any areas of concern.
  • Maintain a register of key risks, Permits, Licences, Conditions & Consents, as required
  • Collate and manage key data related to monthly reporting to Global and Regional project management system.
  • Awareness of budgetary control and ensuring the budget is regularly updated and reviewed with the Head of Civil Engineering.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Degree level or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction/Building
  • Knowledge and experience of planning software such as, Microsoft Project, Asta Power Project or Primavera
  • Good communication skills
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role, where you have a proven track record in delivering and planning major projects
  • In depth knowledge of the concepts and principles of project management and planning
  • Awareness of policies and procedures to ensure resources are efficiently used
  • Familiarity with industry and professional standards
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads
  • No unspent criminal convictions
  • Able to meet the safety critical medical and fitness requirements of the role which include but are not limited to, weight, height, blood pressure, hearing & certain food allergies
