    Job title: Netball Development Officer

    Description

This is a unique opportunity to drive netball growth and development in Cumbria, aligning with an ambitious strategy.

The role will empower local clubs, leagues, and partners to deliver outstanding participation opportunities, while seeking income generation and funding opportunities. The Netball Development Officer will contribute to the county's netball landscape, making it a game for life, providing extraordinary experiences and building a thriving collective within the sport.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about sports participation, committed to making a difference, and people-oriented. They should have experience working with volunteers and voluntary groups, building positive relationships underpinned by collaboration and mutual support.

Key responsibilities include empowering local leagues and clubs to deliver relevant activities, activating national initiatives and campaigns, understanding demographics and attracting new audiences, and providing exceptional experiences to all participants.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to adapt their style to meet the needs of participants, and hold a level 2 netball coaching qualification or be willing to gain one. They will also be a natural organiser, self-motivated, and able to work on their own initiative and lead others.

The role requires a flexible and adaptable individual who can react positively to change, share ideas and successes, and be open to feedback to embed continuous improvement. A confident administrator with budgeting, venue booking, and promotion and marketing skills would be beneficial.

Able to use Microsoft Word and Outlook, and having a working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Power Point, Excel, and social media including Facebook and Twitter would be advantageous. The ability to work some unsocial hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, is required. A full current driving licence and access to a car for work purposes are essential.

This part-time role covers the Cumbria County area, and regular travel across the county is necessary. It offers a competitive salary and benefits package. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for netball, please apply for this exciting opportunity to make a difference in your community.

    • Empower local leagues and clubs to deliver outstanding relevant activity recognising the needs of the audience.
    • Activate national initiatives, campaigns and approaches that support evolution of both club and league landscapes across the county area.
    • Understand the county demographics and find ways to attract new audiences with a focus on those from underserved communities.
    • Provide exceptional experiences to all participants, clubs, leagues and volunteers as well as support those from third parties who deliver netball experiences as part of the partnership agreements.
