JOB SUMMARY
Digitization is changing the paradigm of the Banking industry and so has client's expectation on Banking experience. Clients today expect services to be available instantaneously, any time and with a single touch of a button.

Systems Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a discipline founded by Google adopted by several fintech and new age companies (Amazon, Netflix, Facebook etc) to provide an "Always on" service through an engineering driven approach.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Drive stability agenda such as autoheal, automation, improved monitoring (Observability), Failure Mode Effect Analysis construct, fault tolerant solutions and flows etc on systems across Transaction Banking Messaging Stream
  • Establish a robust engagement model with the vendors for MTS and AMH in terms of service reviews, prioritization of fixes, delivery items, observability and other key aspects for stability
  • Put forward ideas, own and implement strategic initiatives across consistent with the function
  • Drive teams to provide fitforpurpose solutions as required.
  • Enhancing the FronttoBack client service model
  • Accelerating digitization efforts
  • Proactive stability management
  • Attend industry forums / user groups

Business

  • Engage stakeholders effectively to communicate / address BAU issues
  • Solicit business buyin to undertake minor fixes without utilizing the project team
  • Ensure interaction with surround teams are always done in a professional manner
  • Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • The role requires liaison with Senior Business stakeholders so a senior individual with presence and excellent communication skills is crucial for the role.

Processes

  • Service Improvement Plans
  • Change coordination and implementation. Adhere to Change Control and Fault Reporting Procedures
  • Work closely with SD/Database/Network /Infrastructure teams to improve platform service offering.
  • Drive Delivery teams to provide fitforpurpose solutions as required.

People & Talent

  • Be a part of efficient target operating model and enhance the existing capabilities of the team.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives

Risk Management

  • The ability to interpret and identify key risks issues in system and put in place appropriate controls and measures
  • Monitor all major risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, ensure direct remedial action and/or adequate reporting to Risk Committees

Governance

Audit

  • Review Audit RFIs for accuracy & correctness of details provided. Ensure NIL audit findings
  • CVE/CCM/IVS tracking in lower and prod environment and to ensure NIL NC's
  • Handle Finance functions as required

BAU Stability

  • Prepare capacity management plans. Ensure no incidents because of capacity related issues
  • Autoreboot planning and maintenance
  • Agreeing for downtime with country to ensure that regulatory commitment of per month or year quota is met
  • Support & drive SRE initiatives across scalability, observability, operability, reliability pillars

SRE Stack

  • Delivering fullstack monitoring and analytics.
  • Empowering SREs With Insights.
  • Delivering SRE into DevOps culture.
  • Fixing Support Escalation Issues
  • Knowledge of development and production environment skills.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Engage with teams for the SRE function to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
