    Description

    Job Overview

    The Senior Research Chemist will work with R&D to transfer new chromatographic products into the Taunton Manufacturing Site, improving existing manufacturing processes for more effective and efficient operations. This individual will act as an individual contributor, planning and executing work to solve problems of moderate to high complexity in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Collaborate with R&D to design experiments, scale up studies, and create bulk material guidelines/specifications using statistical treatment of data.
    2. Improve existing manufacturing processes by applying theoretical chemical understanding and solving complex problems.
    3. Resolve daily production issues with the Bulk Synthesis Department, addressing complex chemical, equipment, and infrastructure problems.
    4. Manufacture products such as reagents and standards with sophisticated glassware techniques.
    5. Work with QA to resolve Quality/Customer Issues, creating problem statements and finding innovative solutions.
    6. Analyze complex data from 100 equipment systems and continuously improve new equipment in the New Waters Precision Chemistry Building.

    Requirements

    1. Masters/Ph.D. Degree or equivalent in organic chemistry, applying chemical principles to solve complex technical problems.
    2. 0-3 Years of experience in industry or academia, or >5 years in industry for Master's degree holders.
    3. Familiarity with small-scale glassware reactions and analytical/purification techniques.
    4. Knowledge of statistics for process control and setting specifications.
