Housing Adviser
We are seeking to fill this important role of providing specialist housing advice in our Hastings Advice Team.

We are committed to providing an outstanding level of service to our clients when they are the most in need of advice and assistance.


Position:
Housing Adviser


Location:
Renaissance House, London Road, St Leonards on Sea, TN37 6AN

Salary:
£24,502 to £29,349 per annum dependant on experience


Hours: 37 hours per week


Closing Date: 20 February 2023 at 12 noon


About the role:


As a Housing Adviser, you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission is 'combating homelessness, creating opportunities, promoting change.

'

You will provide specialist level advice in relation to homelessness, possession proceedings, disrepair, and other housing matters.

The Housing Adviser will provide advice under the Legal Aid Agency Legal Help Scheme and having a knowledge of that scheme would be advantageous, but training can be provided.

We are also funded by Local Housing Authorities to provide advice outside of the LAA scheme.

You will also be required to participate in the Housing Possession Court Duty Desk Scheme.


About you:


To be successful in the role of Housing Adviser you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of the organisation.

Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:


  • Experience of providing specialist legal advice and assistance on range of housing matters
  • Experience of providing advocacy on the Housing Possession Court Duty Desk Scheme
  • Experience of providing advice under an Advice Quality Mark
  • Ability to meet set targets including and opening and billing targets
  • Ability to manage a caseload
