As part of our Restart programme we will support participants on their journey to finding sustainable employment, enabling them to progress towards a more secure future.

The Restart programme will help people who have been unemployed for between 12 and 18 months get back into work, including those whose prospects for securing employment have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are expanding our team and have created a new role for a Business Administrator to help the quality assurance manager with monitoring a Variety tasks ranging from monitoring outcomes of participants to help with administrator petty cash to self delivery sites


The Business Administrator will:


  • Lead on manging the calculation of a range of financial outputs based on the Restart case management system and setting up templates to ensure reporting is consistent and efficient.
  • Example outputs includes calculation of Customer Service Standard (CSS) service credits and their flow down to supply chain partners (SCPs), calculation of the flow down of the monthly delivery fee and variable Job Outcome payments, calculating the effects of switches in caseload from one SCP to another, tracking of Job Outcomes from DWP to actual Job Outcomes.
  • These payments will be managed within a governance framework and the role holder will be supported by senior manager sand members of the finance team in the creation of the outputs above
  • Tracking and monitoring of Serco and SCP expenditure on Participant Costs.
  • The role will also involve oversight of the petty cash function in the locations where Serco selfdeliver
  • Working with the data analysts team to ensure the data is presented in an assessable way and so that it aligns with the performance information from the MI team.

Key accountabilities

  • Setting up templates to track and calculate the effects of CSS service credits and rebates on Serco and the flow down to SCPs. Presenting this to the appropriate governance board and following up on the actions decided.
  • Tracking Job Outcomes per the DWP reporting system and those recorded on our case management system. Tracking and reconciling differences.
  • Tracking standard accelerated JO payments from the DWP and the flow down of these to SCP,. Again, this will require setting up a template to manage efficiently and consistently. Presenting this to the appropriate governance board and following up on the actions decided.
