Pay Range:
Teachers Unqualified Pay Range UQ- UQ6

Actual Salary from:
£25,733 - £30,172

Start Date: 1st September 2023

The Role

This is an ideal opportunity for a post-graduate who is interested in pursuing a career in teaching or a current tutor who is interested in working closely with our school.

Paxman Academy opened to Year 7 students in September 2019 and is a co-educational, fully comprehensive 11-16 Academy with a PAN of 180.

It is a heavily oversubscribed school which is held in high regard in the community.

This post is 100% FTE.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

To work with identified KS3 and KS4 students from the RAP cycle
To support and teach students using a range of varied activities which engage and support the learning of students
To plan and deliver support / tuition to allocated classes or groups of students.
To monitor and assess the progress of students receiving support/tuition.
To liaise with the school and class teachers through verbal feedback during faculty meeting and briefing sessions and regular written feedback.
Impact will be measured through end of unit and end of year tests.

We're looking for you if you have:

Successful recent experience of working with children in a small group/individual basis
Excellent reading and writing skills equivalent to at least NVQ Level
Excellent numeracy skills equivalent to at least NVQ Level
Experience of working with SEN/EAL children
Excellent working knowledge and experience of implementing national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes.
