In 2021 Turntide acquired three North East businesses to establish our presence in the UK - those businesses were Borg Warner in Gateshead, Hyperdrive in Sunderland and Avid in Cramlington.

The acquisitions allowed us to extend our Smart Motor System to the transportation sector and help turn the tide on climate change.

The Job


The Quality Inspector's primary responsibility will be to review incoming materials as well as finished products to make sure they meet company and customer-specific requirements.

The role is based at our site in Cramlington and reports in to the Quality Manager.


Key Responsibilities
In this role the Quality Inspector will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing timely and accurate feedback on drawings to the Engineering function.
  • Creating efficient offline programs for the CNC and CMM machinery.
  • Performing visual and dimensional inspection of components at goods in and finished goods.
  • Recording and escalating nonconformances where issues are identified.
  • Operating our calibration system for all measurement and monitoring devices.
  • Supporting with measurement system analysis and gauge R&R
  • Supporting with Capability Studies.

The Requirements

  • You will have previous experience in a similar Quality role
  • Competent with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Can read/interpret and understand 2D Drawings and 3D Models.
  • Operate a CNC CMM (Coordination Measurement Machine) preferably Aberlink.
  • Experience in patrol inspections
