2 x 37 hours per week (Food Safety/Environmental Protection Team)

1 x 18.5 hours per week

We are seeking 2 full time and 1 part time Senior Environmental Health Officers to join two of our Environmental Health teams, the Food Safety Team and the Environmental Protection Team.

You will be assisting the Environmental Health Managers to develop and deliver a high quality, cost effective and efficient service compliant with legislation, guidance, Council policies and procedures.


You will provide high quality technical advice and day to day supervision to a team of professional, technical, and trainee officers to ensure our enforcement activity is undertaken in line with legislation and supporting guidance.

This includes organising and directing inspections and investigations, instigation of appropriate enforcement activities and monitoring and controlling the level of service provided by the team and any contractors acting on our behalf.

In addition, you will oversee and mentor our trainee EHO's.


To fulfil our role, you will be enthusiastic, committed, self-motivated and have a 'can-do' attitude, all supported by excellent communication skills.


You must hold a recognised degree in Environmental Health or a recognised diploma in Environmental Health plus a Certificate of Registration from the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board.

You must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in any aspect of environmental health and preferably some experience in either food safety or pollution control.
