Shop/ Boatyard worker required at The Marine Centre situated on the North Norfolk coast.
We are looking for a responsible, reliable person to work mainly in the chandlery shop answering the phone, taking messages, keeping the shop tidy, using the till and credit card machine, advising customers, taking orders, restocking shelves etc.
The role will also include helping in the boat yard when needed, with tasks such as moving trailers, assisting with launching and recovery of boats, tidying the yard, power-washing hulls, lifting engines.
The successful applicant will:
- have the initiative to identify tasks that need to be completed, or be willing to ask for directions if needed.
- be able to communicate with customers, and other staff, in a friendly cheerful manner.
- be willing to learn about aspects of the boats, engines and stock on sale to be able to advise customers.
- be willing to work outdoors in all weathers as required.
- have a hands-on attitude. and be willing to 'muck in'.
- have some knowledge of using a till and credit card machine or be willing to learn.
- be willing to be flexible with hours (to fit in with tide times).
A full driving licence will be helpful (but not essential).
Work hours required:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10am - 5pm
