JOB PURPOSE:


As Supervisor of the Team, you will play an integral role in ensuring our centre runs smoothly, our guests feel a genuine welcome and a can-do attitude from all our team members.

Leading from the front you will support and guide our teams to create great memories for all our guests.

The Supervisor will be responsible for the smooth running of the Dining Room, Bar and Cellar area, anticipating guests needs and exceeding their expectation.

Providing a visible presence and available point of contact for conference delegates, taking personal responsibility for resolving queries, complaints and issues promptly and seeking to provide excellent customer service at all times.

Managing and directing all dining staff, in terms of duties and Rotas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the day to day running of the dining room, servery, plate wash, bar and cellar area.
  • Organise, lead and motivate a diverse team, ensuring that each member of staff completes their duties in accordance with the service and cleaning duties roster. Monitor staff breaks, start and finish times, Ensure everything is ready for service including personnel, equipment and signage.
  • Whilst working alongside the Team monitor and maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout your areas of responsibility. This is to include daily, weekly and deepcleaning schedules of all of the furniture and equipment e.g. tables, chairs, benches, trollies, salad counters, hot and cold beverage machines, trays, crockery & cutlery, etc.
  • Ensure Food Hygiene and H&S regulations are strictly observed. Including recording temperature checks of the fridge and salad counters and recording any near misses or accidents in the Dining Room and bar.
  • Supervise staff on a daily basis. Assist in planning staff shifts, rotas, and casual staff support.
  • Liaise and communicate clearly with other Departments of the Centre, HOD's and General Manager. Pass on messages and disseminate important information to the Dining Room team.
  • Monitor the standard and use of staff uniform and PPE, and ensure staff have the necessary equipment and materials needed to carry out their jobs efficiently.
  • Encourage a welcoming, positive and enthusiastic attitude amongst the staff. Monitor the customer service provided and suggest where further improvements and efficiencies can be made, in conjunction with the House Manager.
  • Ensure all staff are fully briefed on the contents of each dish. Be aware of those customers with food allergies (and special dietary requirements), and ensure staff are well briefed on all necessary procedures that are in place to safeguard them.
  • Ensure that staff use equipment (e.g. beverage machines, dishwasher and mechanical floor cleaner) in line with the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Management of the bar cellar, including beer line cleaning and stock monitoring and rotation.
  • Ensuring cellar is kept clean at all times.
  • Placing bar orders via the House Manager
  • Ensuring end of day procedures are completed
  • Manage staff problems and concerns promptly and fairly. Referring them to the General Manager where necessary.
  • Take responsibility for the opening up and closing down procedures, ensuring the general security and safety of the centre in line with Rota's.
  • Regularly "walk the centre" ensuring high standards of cleanliness and tidiness are maintained and that heating, and lighting is set at appropriate levels.
  • Take on the onsite Management role, as required on the weekly rota, ensuring that all Departments are running smoothly and dealing with any issues that arise on site whilst you are the Person In Charge.
