Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work in the group of Prof Maria Grazia Spillantini to investigate mechanisms of alpha-synuclein pathology spreading in a new transgenic mouse model with alpha-synuclein expression in the gut.

Funding is available for 12 months in the first instance. The appointee will work on a Parkinson's UK funded grant.

Contribution to the characterization of new transgenic mouse models and study of mechanisms of alpha-synuclein spreading.

The essential requirements for this post are as follows: Hold a PhD, Strong interest in the project, Strong track record of high-quality independent research, commensurate with career stage

Experience in:
Immunohistochemistry, biochemical techniques and mouse anatomy Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following topics is desirable: Parkinson's disease mouse models, primary cell culture, Immunohistochemistry, Inflammation

The position is full time and fixed term for 12 months.

The applicant will be based at the Clifford Allbutt Building in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Cambridge.
