About the role:

It's an exciting time to join our Supply Chain team here at AXA UK Claims.

As Head of Supply Chain - Legal, you'll be responsible for the creation, management and implementation of an effective Claims supply chain strategy, that delivers for claims operations and the needs of our customers.

You'll deliver and lead the strategy of claims supply chain within the AXA Claims function for Legal Services leading a team of Supply Chain Managers to proactively identify, develop and implement options that meet the needs of our customers, claims operations, and strategic business units.

You'll be accountable for the Supply Chain delivery across business KPIs that focus on indemnity control, operational expense and customer satisfaction.


Working closely with Claims operations, AXA Group and the external supply market you'll develop and implement a supply strategy delivering targeted procurement savings and leading-edge processes and innovations.

At AXA we work smart, this role is non-office based meaning you can predominantly work from home or if in a field based role, you'll travel to visit offices or client sites as required.


What you'll be doing:


  • Lead, develop best in class approach through team to provide an approved strategic supply chain supporting the delivery of claims operational & customer requirements, including the realisation of agreed cost control / savings targets.
  • Work in collaboration with Group Insurance Procurement (IP) to set the UK Claims Legal Services strategy for IP and deliver against the plans and targets.
  • Understand SBU and claims operational strategies and develop options that deliver and meet those needs.
  • Develop a clear Legal Services Supply Chain Strategy and embed within Claims owning the delivery & execution.
  • Oversee the entire procurement cycle, ensure all Supply Chain Managers are executing end to end supplier management.
  • Ensure the Legal Services Claims Supply Chain is fit for purpose and complaint with appropriate AXA Group & UK policies.
  • Work in collaboration with UK Procurement and derive best practices from a shared guiding principle ensuring all business cases are approved internally.
  • Build strong and mutually benefiting relationships with key internal and external partners (Claims, SBUs, Finance, Group Legal, external; suppliers, innovation labs, insurance press, CIPS etc).
  • Provide strategic insight on market developments and how these change/help our propositions.

About you:


What we're looking for:


  • MCIPS or relevant experience preferred.
  • Relevant Procurement, Insurance or Business Professional qualification.
  • Management of complex change within organisations, knowledge and experience of the UK General Insurance Market, legislative environment and case law.
  • In depth knowledge of claims assessment and reserving, claims process philosophy and the claims supply chain.
  • Understanding of Claims and General Insurance MI & good understanding of statistical analysis.
  • Ability to work with different functional & interest groups facilitating shared participation.
  • Evidence of delivery of savings on a year on year basis with excellent strategic vision of innovative supply chain solutions.
  • In depth experience of working with and managing external suppliers.
  • Ability to analyse contractual formation and liaise with internal and external lawyers.
