Research Assistant in Palaeobiology:


Are you a graduate with an academic background in ecology, zoology or palaeontology, and looking for your first research challenge? Do you want to be part of a cutting-edge palaeobiological research programme? Do you want to further you career in one of the UK's leading, research intensive Universities?


You will be a key member of the NERC funded project _"Ecosystem Recovery Following the Permo-Triassic Mass Extinction"_ and will work with a large research team to explore ecological dynamics across the most catastrophic extinction event in Earth history.

Working as a palaeobiologist, you will build data sets and analyse extinction and recovery patterns across the extinction event via the implementation of existing quantitative tools to reconstruct food webs and analyse community structure.

You will also support the project leader, Dr Alex Dunhill, in the planning and administration of the project.

You will join an international team of researchers. These include Prof.

Andrew Beckerman (University of Sheffield), Dr Jack Shaw (Santa Fe Institute), Prof Haijun Song (China University of Geoscience, Wuhan) and Professor Paul Wignall (University of Leeds).
