Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen, for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant with relevant experience to join our Northern Care Alliance Delivery Team, supporting recruitment to our long COVID portfolio of research including the Locomotion study.

Working alongside a team of research nurses and clinicians, the post-holder will support research activity both within the hospital and community settings predominantly, but not exclusively, at long COVID patient clinics.

We are looking for a motivated and effective communicator with a 'can do' attitude and an eye for detail; they will need to take ownership and delivery of their work with a desire to develop their research delivery skills.

You should be organised, be able to prioritise and demonstrate initiative, within the ethically approved confines of the protocol and Good Clinical Practice; able to thrive on challenges, and be an effective problem solver.

You will support research activity within the long COVID portfolio of clinical trials, supporting robust data collection and inputting alongside trial-related activities.

50% of your time will support and monitor the recruitment and retention of participants in the 'LOCOMOTION' study, a long covid study currently on-going.

The successful post holder will explain the study to prospective participants, seek informed consent, support enrolled patients taking part in LOCOMOTION and support associated administrative duties.

The other 50% of your time will be working as part of the Research for the Future (RftF) team helping to support Long Covid related research campaign

There may be an expectation that the post holder would undertake training in specific trial-related procedures such as venepuncture and processing of research samples, however, training would be provided for this.
