Description
Production Operator - Four Ashes


We are currently looking to recruit a Production Operator who will be responsible for supporting site production capabilities and ensuring that all equipment is operated in accordance with SIG's ZERO EHS impact philosophy.


Health, safety and environmental compliance is an important aspect of this position together with contributing to continuous improvement in productivity.


You will work in accordance with site standards, procedures and legislation and keep up-to-date with current requirements by participating in internal and external training.


Key Requirements

  • Fully supports and promotes the initiatives of the Responsible Care Management System
  • Maintains workplace organisation through the execution of 5S quality principles and related practices
  • Considered the "Asset Owner" and responsible for executing operator work processes and procedures in a way that maximizes yield and minimizes waste
  • Maintain up to date data on Short Interval Control (SIC) boards and detailed logbooks
  • Participate with Production management, Maintenance and Engineering to identify, address and correct root causes of mechanical downtime
  • Cooperate with Production Coordinator and Engineering in completing process improvements and rate tests to identify optimum operating conditions
  • Complete inprocess sampling and analytics for verification of inprocess product quality
  • Responsible for ensuring that Management of Change (MOC) procedures are followed in their assigned work area
  • Responsible for issuing of work permits in their assigned area
  • Ensures maintenance work orders are written and followed up for their assigned work area
  • Responsible for completion of startups/shutdowns/changeovers/maintenance preparation/LOTO and other tasks in a safe, thorough and efficient manner as possible to minimize down time and to maximize production
  • Ensures adherence to ISO9002 policies and procedures outlined by the approved ISO Standard and Programs
  • Participates and cooperates in ISO program audits to improve execution and ensure compliance to SI and Regulatory standards
  • Partners to drive LEAN/Six Sigma, continuous improvement of processes and operations for increased productivity and efficiency (Operational Excellence)
  • Actively participates in a culture of continuous improvement through collaborative engagement and by providing suggestions in meetings and training to improves processes and systems
  • Ensures work is accomplished through defined, measured, and continuously improved work processes; proactively identify and leverages best practices developed across SI
  • Knowledge of relevant technical equipment, reliability drivers and troubleshooting techniques
  • Proficient execution of 5S and other lean management principles and methodologies
  • Exercises sound decisionmaking, and judgement aligned with department objectives
  • Knowledgeable of SI maintenance standards, procedures, and accepted best practices
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and meeting deadlines

Salary:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Night shift
  • Overtime
