To revitalise tick-borne infections research in the Clinical and Applied Virology group (Dr Judith Hübschen) within the Department of Infection and Immunity, we are looking for an early stage post-doctoral fellow in tick-borne pathogens research.

Background

Tick-borne diseases are a serious public health issue and will likely become even more relevant with tick species moving into new habitats as a consequence of climate change and new pathogens being introduced and getting established.

Tick-borne pathogen surveillance is thus an important component of preparedness for new and emerging threats.

While traditionally many tick surveillance activities were focusing on more rural areas, there is growing attention to the risk in urban settings such as public parks and city-associated recreational areas.
