The Client:

Our client is a versatile consultancy firm, specialising in both construction and engineering services. They offer expert guidance across all phases of a project.

The Role:

As a
Technician, you will play a pivotal role in engaging in hands-on design work, providing technical support, and collaborating on diverse projects.

Responsibilities:

Carry out detailed design work for highways, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
Produce, review, and issue design drawings, ensuring compliance with standards.
Assess sites and conduct feasibility evaluations.
Audit and design for pedestrian, cycling, and public transport infrastructure.
Evaluate risks and implement mitigation strategies following Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
Undertake highway design for local authority and private residential/commercial (S38/184/278).
Establish effective communication with clients, professional teams, local authorities, and contractors.
Lead the technical approval process and work autonomously, demonstrating initiative.

Requirements:

Previously worked as a Highways Technician, Engineering Technician, Civil Technician, or in comparable roles.
Proficient in detailed highway construction and drainage design.
Experience in civil engineering consultancy, adept in software such as Civil 3D, AutoTrack, MicroDrainage.
Wellversed in UK design principles (MfS, DMRB) and procedures (TROs, Road Safety Audits).
