People Operations Specialist/HR Advisor - Part-time (30 Hours)
We're hiring a People Operations Specialist/HR Advisor in Abingdon, Oxfordshire to join our HR team. The role is part-time (0.8) which equates to 30 hours per week.

We offer a hybrid working pattern and would request you to be in the office for approximately 3 days per week in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

About the role


Working closely with the rest of the HR team and reporting directly to the HR Business Partner, you'll primarily be responsible for delivering effective HR operational services across the UK and Ireland.


This includes being the central point for the administration of all HR operational services, providing expertise and guidance, and developing and maintaining reporting and measurement of successful delivery of operational services.


You'll also:


  • Manage employee relations, working closely with line managers to establish best practice processes
  • Manage HR systems, acting as a super user and ensuring compliance
  • Prepare payroll and coordinate with the outsourced payroll provider
  • Set up exit interviews and manage recording and sharing of information
  • Be the administrative lead for HR systems and associated processes
  • Work on ad hoc and project work as required

About you


To succeed in this role, you'll be an outstanding communicator, bringing natural interpersonal skills and the ability to converse at any level.

You'll take a proactive approach and look for continuous improvement at every opportunity.


You'll be data literate and capable of setting up HR systems and software, then managing reporting/analysis to create digestible and understandable outputs.


You'll be up to speed with employee relations practices and with UK / Ireland employment law, with a strong HR or people services background.

Any experience of working alongside payroll functions or within the retail industry is highly advantageous.

You will work across different projects, representing HR within Miele GB
