We're hiring for a
CNC Turner to join an electronics manufacturer based in
Droylsden,
Tameside. This business was a family-owned business which grew into a global manufacturer, who are market leaders within their industry, recognised by their innovation and bespoke products.

The purpose of this role will be to aid the Machine Shop team in producing high quality components.


What's on offer?
- £33,000 - £37,000 per annum + 20% shift allowance

  • Thurs 6:00am 2:00pm / Early finish Friday (36 hours per week)

  • Thurs 1:30pm 10:00pM/Friday 12:00pm 4:00pm (36 hours per week)

What will you be doing as aCNC Machinist?

  • Preparing materials for machining, deburring, cleaning of work area
  • Operating a variety of CNC lathes, various fixed head Hardinge machines with Fanuc controls (0T, 18T, 21T), as well as 2 Tsugami Swiss type lathes (BS26CE-V), 2 Star Swiss type lathes (SR20RIV, SR32JIIB) and a Citizen (L20-XII), producing parts to drawing and within agreed specifications/tolerances
  • Producing machined parts by loading specified program, setting up, and operating CNC lathes; maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Producing components to an agreed schedule of work orders, to the machine parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Verifying settings by measuring sample work pieces; adhering to standards
  • Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements detailed by production engineering, following manufacturer's instructions

What do you need?

  • Time served skilled CNC machinist
  • Familiarity with Fanuc fixed head lathes (Hardinge ideally)
  • GCSE or above in English and Maths
  • Must have a good understanding of mechanical processes and practices
  • The ability to read and understand drawings
  • Proactive attitude
  • Great organisational skills
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently with multiple stakeholders

£33,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
