We're looking for a Lead Nuclear Safety Site Group Head / Inspector to join our team at Sizewell B on a permanent basis.
You'll lead and manage a site-based INA (Independent Nuclear Assurance) team to provide intendent assurance of compliance and to promote excellence in safe nuclear power plant operations.
The Group Head leads and co-ordinates work planning, prioritisation, communication and administration for the station INA activities to ensure effective independent nuclear assurance and delivery of the INA Business Plan.

We can offer a competitive salary from £79,619 - £92,064 dependent on experience and you'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you'll be doing
Your primary role as an INA Site Group Head will include:
- Management and delivery of the site INA Plan to provide systematic oversight of nuclear, industrial, radiological and environmental safety as well as security arrangements at the Sizewell B station
- Ensuring that staff appraisals, leave, accountability meetings, development and training is properly addressed including new team member recruitment as required.
- Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of quality reports.
- Act as interface between INA and the station senior leadership team.
- Represent their site giving input to surveillance and business plan development.
- Developing and tracking issues using regulatory tools as required.
- Responsible for managing team meeting oversight & plant area responsibilities.
- Interfacing with central INA colleagues and teams to ensure clear and aligned oversight messaging to the business.
- Routine attendance at subset of INA Management team meetings.
- Ensuring that an effective interface exists between INA, the ONR and other regulators.
Who you are
To be successful for this role, you will be qualified to HNC (or equivalent) as a minimum and a relevant Degree in a technical or engineering field (or acceptable equivalent) may be an advantage.
You'll have a knowledge of nuclear power station operation and cycles, ideally within a PWR context.
In addition, a thorough understanding and use of regulatory processes and practices, including the Site License and WANO PO&Cs with a sound understanding of and experience of using standards for nuclear safety will be a distinct advantage.
