Do you want to become an HGV Driver but don't have the funds to train? Have you heard about the driver training throughout the XPO Training Academy? We at XPO, have developed an internal program to take novice car drivers, through to full-fledged, Cat CE HGV drivers within 12-16 weeks.

And once you have completed the training you will potentially walk straight into a job working for us Not only this, but we have on site trainers who will take you from being a newly qualified driver with no experience, to a highly trained, professional driver.

Pay, benefits and more:

We are offering employment from day one of your training program and in approximately 12 to 16 weeks time, we will support you to enter a new profession (dependant on the speed at which you train).

You will become a Class 1 driver on our British Gypsum contract, based at our Leicester site. The site operates a Monday to Friday, day shift pattern, transporting building products across the UK. Initially we are offering a training rate of £12.00 per hour, rising significantly upon acquiring your CE licence.

What you'll do during your training:
You will be invited to our assessment day on May the 2nd 2024.

This day will include a presentation, Q&A, interview and initial driving assessment in one of our cat B vehicles (commercial van).

If successful, you will have shown your suitability to be trained as a Class 1 driver, your learning journey will start

You will be offered a fulltime Trainee Drivers position with us.
You will complete manual handing training.
You will study for the driver theory test.
You will be shadowing our experienced drivers to learn their roles.
You will have practical driver training and test.

Once you have passed, we can get you out on the road, then the fun really starts

What you need to succeed at XPO:

No more than 6 points on your licence.
No DD, DR or IN endorsements.
